Beautiful angels dressed for the Santa Lucia festival

Beautiful angels dressed for the Santa Lucia festival

This week in our Monday morning gathering we sang our Advent songs and then we planned our weekly activities. After that we talked about the weather, stars and our weekends. In the afternoon we gathered into Circle Hall and practiced our Paradise play.
On Tuesday morning we celebrated Santa Lucia day. Ruth T. played the songs from our Paradise play on her lyre. Then Maria, dressed up as Santa Lucia, walked in wearing a crown of candles on her head. We sang ‘Santa Lucia’ and then she gave out buns to eat. After that we sang Happy Birthday to Mary.
In our last Thursday morning College of 2016, we learned about the last two elements, air and fire. Patricia told us that we can’t see air although we can feel it. Air is very important especially because we breathe air in and out in order to stay alive. After that Lina talked to us about fire. Lina asked us, “How do you start a fire?” Some answered by using a match, others answered wood and some said by flammable materials. After that Lina read to us the story of Prometheus and then David read to us the last two poems for advent. After a short break we gathered into Circle Hall and did eurythmy to all four elements.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday we broke into our Paradise play, painting, reading writing, art studio and shepherd’s play groups.
Friday afternoon, we gathered into Circle Hall with the Waldorf grade three students and watched the performance of the Paradise play by our coworkers.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
