This week in our Tuesday morning gathering Patricia introduced to us two visitors. Their names are Jan and Dana, and they are from the Camphill Academy. They came to the west coast, first to Camphill California and now to us, to meet with people about the Academy program. After that we talked about the weather, sports, stars and our Family Day weekend. Before John’s star report, he told us that today in 1946 Queen Elizabeth married the Philip Mountbatten, the former prince of Greece. He also told us that the President of South Africa, Nelson Mandela was released from prison on the 11th of February.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday afternoon, we broke in to our eurythmy, painting, reading, writing, clay, art studio, singing and swimming groups.
In our Thursday morning college, we planned the events we will be presenting to everybody at this year’s Carnival. Ruth T. wrote on the blackboard the order of events for that morning and afternoon. She also showed us photos of what North Vancouver looked like in the early 1900’s.
After a short break, Lorna’s bell choir practiced their bell playing.
On Friday afternoon, one group went swimming and everybody else stayed back to prepare for Carnival.

On Saturday afternoon, our families and friends came to our first Valentine’s Tea and Music party. Guests sat at different tables in a romantic setting in Circle Hall where they were served tea, sandwiches and sweets by Helena and Megan. Lorna, our music teacher explained her role as the bell choir leader and the music therapist. Then she had the companions demonstrate their music. The audience was amazed at the level of participation, skill, accomplishment and joy demonstrated by each of the companions.
