This week in our Monday morning gathering, John read to us this week’s ‘Calendar of the Soul’ Verse.’ In Deepak’s feature of ‘Today in History’, he told us that in 1365, the University of Vienna was founded. Also in 1609 Bermuda became an English colony. Moscow became the capital of Russia in 1918. After the History feature, everybody shared their weekends and then John and William talked about the stars. Gundula and Jeff told us about last week’s weather. After that we sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Deepak.
In our Thursday morning College, Liisi and Marie Reine taught us about the Birch tree. To start off Liisi read to us a poem about the Birch tree. She told us that there are five different species of the Birch tree which can be found in the Northern Hemisphere. We also learned that the tree is very well connected with the day of Friday and the planet of Venus. The tree represents rejuvenation which means rebirth. The tree’s wood is used for making furniture and cosmetics such as soap and shampoo. The birch’s sap is used as maple syrup for pancakes and it is also used a traditional drink in Northern Europe. After a short break, the College group played all seven songs on the bells from Sunday until Saturday in preparation for Easter.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoon we divided into our eurythmy, painting, swimming, reading, writing, clay art studio and setting up for our Craft Fair at Circle Hall.
Thank you to everyone who came to our Craft Fair.
