This week in our Monday morning gathering, we sang our May and Whitsun songs. Then Ruth T told us that Whitsun is a three day festival from Whit Sunday (seventh Sunday after Easter) until Wednesday. After that we talked about the weather, stars, sports and our weekend. Also our very good friend, Adola came for a short visit to say ‘hello.’
In our Thursday morning college, we sang our May and St. Jean songs. Then we welcomed our new co-worker, Justus. Ruth T told us about the many different temples around the world. The Stonehenge was built 3000 years ago in England. There were 30 great stones which were placed in a circle. It is believed that the stones were placed to be like a calendar so they could predict the seasons. They were also believed to be a holy place. We also learned that there are great mysteries surrounding the Stonehenge called the Hibernian which is related to the sun.
