This week in our Monday morning gathering, we sang our Whitsun and May songs and then we talked about the weather, stars, sports and our weekends. In the afternoon, we gathered into Circle Hall where Megan led us in the waltz, tango, Persian and Greek dancing.
On Tuesday afternoon, we watched three presentations about waking up and going to sleep. Bridget introduced what we have been talking about in the last week. Then the three groups presented their skits. In the first skit everybody showed how the nations of the world wake up and say ‘Good morning.’ In the second skit everybody showed the cycle of day and night and what we do during the day and what kind of dreams we have in the night. During this presentation, Jeff played some night music on the cello. Scott played two small bells in between night and day and Stephen played day time music. Also Jim walked around in his dream and told everybody what he was dreaming about. Then I showed everybody how free I am when I’m sleeping. After that Felix read to us a poem that he wrote called ‘Awake’. In the last skit, we saw how people woke up to different sounds and how they come together.
On Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoon, we broke into our painting, reading, writing, singing, swimming and spatial dynamics groups.
In our Thursday morning college, we practiced the songs from our Saint John play. After that, Ruth O., Mary and I taught everybody about Ancient Egypt. Ruth O. told us how in Egyptian art all the figures are painted in profile. After that I dressed up as the Sun God, Ra who created the earth and the human beings. He rose with the sun in the morning and went down into the underworld at night. Then Ruth spoke about mummification which prepares the dead person for the afterlife.
After a short break, we gathered into Circle Hall and looked over the year and talked about our highlights. Then we had a good bye party for Megan.
