This week in our Tuesday morning gathering, we sang our Saint Michael songs. After that Gundula read to us this week’s ‘Calendar of the Soul’ verse and then everybody shared what they are grateful for, as Thanksgiving had just passed.
In Deepak’s feature of ‘Today in History’, he told us that in 1831 the original London Bridge was dismantled and sold to Arizona in the United States and repaired in 1971. In 1899 an African American invented the bicycle frame and in 1911, the Panama Canal was opened. After that we looked at the past week’s weather and then John and William talked to us about the stars. Then we sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Teresita.
In our Thursday morning college, we learned more facts about water. Dennis asked everybody, “Where can you find water?” We answered the ocean, lakes, streams and waste. Elliot told us that the rain drop is not in the shape of a tear drop but it is in the shape of the top half of a hamburger bun. He also told us that rain drops become ice or snow. After that we did a meditation by closing our eyes and listening to the rain. Then Eliot and Dennis read to us a poem and a story. After a short break, we gathered into Circle Hall to practice Mary Poppin songs for Halloween and our bell playing for a Christmas video that will compile the work of the bell players in many Camphill Communities.
On Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, we broke into our eurythmy, painting, clay, reading, writing, swimming and art studio groups. On Friday afternoon, the grade eight students from Waldorf came to Circle Hall to practice the fairy tale.
