Anthony’s Blog October 14, 2016.
This week in our Tuesday morning gathering, we sang our Michaelmas songs and then we looked at the weather, stars and our Thanksgiving weekends.
On Wednesday afternoon, Marco Grieco, an Italian piano player from Southern Italy performed for us a classical piano concert. During the performance he played different pieces from well known composers such as Strauss, Mozart, Chopan, Liszt and Verdi.
In our Thursday morning college, our friend Nancy Mellon told us two stories. The first story was called ‘The Lantern Maker.’ She told us that her aunt loved to make lanterns . She kept some of them for herself, and then she would give the rest to other people. After that we heard the story about the three brothers who went out into the world because they wanted to be independent. Unfortunately two of the brothers were turned into stone, but with the help of the youngest brother they were disenchanted at the end.
In the afternoon, we gathered into Circle Hall to make bird balloons which will turn into lanterns for Halloween.
On Friday morning, we gathered together to listen to the Arbutus Ensemble Quartet.

Marco Grieco gave us a wonderful performance to kick off his Canadian tour.
