Anthony’s Blog October 2, 2015
This week in our Monday morning circle, Patricia introduced us to her friend Joan. Joan told us that she is from South Africa where she worked in a Camphill community. She loves to travel to different Camphills to meet people. We also found out that she is the granddaughter of Karl Koenig, the founder of Camphill. After that we talked about the weather and the stars.
During the rest of the day, we prepared for our Michaelmas Celebration. We broke into three groups. One group made pumpkin soup and buns, another group set up the harvest table and the third group stirred the preparation for the garden.
Michaelmas Celebration
On Tuesday morning, we gathered into Circle Hall and sang our Michaelmas songs. Then we talked about Saint Michael’s gifts to us like courage, strength and power. Then we went to the different stations and learned about light, darkness, the stars inside of us and the planets outside of our body. We also learned about how in a certain part of the year we get courage.
After that we gathered on the mosaic for our harvest meal with soup, buns and plum cake.
In the afternoon Ruth O. read two passages from the Bible and Mary dressed up as the woman with the stars on her head and the moon under her feet. Then we looked at a picture of the dragon and the angels that were drawn by the art group.
In our Thursday morning college, we welcomed visitors from different Camphills for the craft conference. After that everybody talked about the quality of the vowels ‘E,A,O. Then we looked back at our Goetheanum Celebration from last year.
After a short break, Lorna’s bell choir practiced their bell playing for our fairy tale.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, we broke into our painting, reading, writing, art studio, fairy tale practice and reading groups.
