This week in our Monday morning gathering, we sang our Michaelmas songs and then we talked about the weather, stars, sports and our weekends. We were also introduced to our new volunteer from Germany, Jennifer.
In the afternoon we practiced for our fairy tale, ‘The Shoes that were Danced to Pieces.’
In our first Thursday morning College for the Fall, we sang our Saint Michael songs and then we welcomed back our coworker Megan. She reported from a conference she had been to at a Camphill community in Vermont called Heartbeet. Camphill to work again with us. Ruth T. told us about Goethe who wrote the fairy tale, ‘The Green Snake and the Beautiful Lily’ some of which we will perform on Saint Michael’s Day.
After a short break we broke into different groups and did drawings of our fairy tale. One group drew the river, another group drew the green snake and the third group drew all the characters. In the afternoon, we practiced the play.
On Friday afternoon, the grade eight students and high school students from the Waldorf school came and practiced ‘The Shoes that were Danced to Pieces’ with us.
