Music and Art Week
From Monday until Friday, Channa Seidenberg, who conducts the bell choir at Camphill Copake in upstate New York, came to Circle Hall to help us with our music week. Every morning from 10:30 until 11:55, Channa conducted the Bell and String Choir. On Friday afternoon, we gathered into Circle Hall to perform a concert of the songs we have been working on.
Ruth T. introduced the concert’s programme. After that we sang the Cascadia song and then the lyre players performed three pieces, called ‘Peace,’ ‘Conversation’ and ‘The Enchanted Forest.’ In between each of the pieces the art groups presented their art work from the afternoon sessions. Jason’s charcoal group presented their pictures of temple pillars. Then John’s group presented the building of the temple out of clay. After that Laurel and Simran’s felting group presented their interpretation of the Soul Calendar Verse forms done in felt wall hangings. The last presentation was Gundula and Daniel’s pastel coloring group which presented ‘The Rainbow of Life.’ After that Channa conducted the String and Bell choir in a melody called ‘Everyman’. The songs performed in this melody were ‘Journey’, ‘Strange Land’ and the ‘Rainbow Song.’ After that we had a good bye party for Kay who is returning to Brazil.
