This week in our Monday morning gathering, we sang our February songs and then everybody shared their weekends. After that John and William talked about the stars and Daniel talked about the weather.
In our Thursday morning College, we practiced our German songs for carnival and then I spoke about Otto Van Bismark’s life. Otto Van Bismarck was born on April 1, 1851. During his life time he was a statesman who was the very first Chancellor of the German Empire. Also he was the Foreign Minister of Prussia who fought to have all of the states unified into the country of Germany. After that Patricia and Ruth T. told us about Goethe and Schiller. We learned that they were both playwrights and friends. Goethe studied the theory of the color wheel and how colors mixed together to form new colors. Schiller on the other hand studied the stars and wrote poems. After the history lesson, we sang ‘Ode to Joy’ in German.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, we gathered into our eurythmy, painting, clay, reading, writing, swimming, art studio and music groups.

Goethe and Schiller came by our college session to tell us about their life in Weimar Germany.
