On Monday afternoon, companions, coworkers and family members met at Circle Hall to watch a small scene from the ‘Three Kings’ play. An angel holding a star led the three Kings to Bethlehem. When they found baby Jesus in the manger, they presented him with their gifts. Then, the three Kings put out the lighted candles and removed the decorations from the Christmas tree. They carried the tree outside and wrote the initials C.M.B. on the lintel of the door. In the meantime, inside everyone was singing Christmas carols.
This week in our first 2014 Tuesday morning circle, we sang our Three Kings songs. After that Ruth T. introduced us to Laurie and Ed who are the parents of our coworker Jason. Ruth also introduced us to Eli’s friend Anna from Germany. Then everybody told us about their Christmas holidays. After a short break a small group stayed at Circle Hall and practiced for our ‘Three Kings’ play.
After lunch we performed the ‘Three Kings’ play. Steven C. played the role of King Herod who was a mean and jealous king who disapproved of the birth of Christ. The three Kings, (Daniel, Jeff and Andrew travelled to the town of Bethlehem and presented their gifts of gold, myrrh and frankincense to baby Jesus. That evening as they were sleeping an angel talked to them in a dream. She told them not to tell King Herod where the newborn child is but to go back to their own countries by another route. So the three kings did what the angel instructed them to and they went safely back to their own countries.
This week in our Thursday morning college Ruth O. announced that on Wednesday we will be getting a new companion and his name is John.
After that Ruth told us that we will be learning about glass in college.
We will learn how glass was made, the history of glass and the coloured windows that have pictures on them. Also we will be having biographies from our new companions and young coworkers.
After a short break Lorna’s bell choir started to practice for the spring concert.
On Wednesday and Thursday afternoon we broke into our painting, reading, writing, art studio, novel, and eurythmy groups.
On Friday afternoon everybody gathered in to Circle Hall and started to prepare for this year’s carnival.
