This week in our Monday morning gathering, we sang our spring songs and then Gundula read to us the ‘Calendar of the Soul’ verse. After that everybody shared their weekends. In Deepak’s feature of ‘Today in History’, he told us that in 1492 Christopher Columbus was commissioned by the Spanish monarchs to set sail for the new world. Also in 1945 Hitler and his wife took their own lives when they were defeated in W. W. II. In 1975 the Vietnam war ended. After hearing Deepak’s history feature, John, Aiden and Paul talked about the stars and then Gundula and Jeff spoke about last week’s weather.
In our Thursday morning College, Gundula, Aiden and Stephen taught us about rhythm in music. To start off Aiden went around the room and asked everybody, “What kind of music do you like?” Some answered classical, some liked rock and roll, others liked Christmas music and electronic. After that Jeff, Aiden, Gundula and Stephen played for us some music on the cello, recorder and drums. Then Gundula talked about music in our bodies. She told us that we have pulse in our feet just like the cello and then she told us that our heart beats like a drum. She also spoke about how our hands and breathing have rhythm. After hearing about rhythm in our bodies, we did hand clapping and dancing while we sang two of our spring songs, ‘O Lovely Spring’ and ‘Welcome to you.’ After that we talked about going to Cleveland Dam for our Ascension outing.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, we gathered into our eurythmy, painting, reading and writing, youth group, swimming, clay and art studio groups.
