This week in our Monday morning gathering we sang our November songs and then Gundula read to us this week’s Calender of the Soul Verse.
In Deepak’s feature of “Today in History” he told us that in 1935 the Parker brothers launched their game Monopoly and in 1956 Nat King Cole was the very first person to host a variety show.
Deepak then told us about his trip to India.
After that everybody shared their weekends and then Gundula and Raymond spoke about last week’s weather and then Ruth spoke about the stars.
On Tuesday morning and after noon Elliot drove four groups of people to the Fibber arts exhibition. There everybody saw the art piece called “Everything Flows” that was on a cloth that the Fibre arts group made.
In our Thursday morning College Johanna and myself spoke about the zodiac sign Scorpio. To start off Johanna showed everybody a picture of Scorpio and asked how many stars are there. Some answered nineteen and others answered twenty.
After that I told everybody that Orion is afraid of Scorpio because he killed him. Also I told them that Scorpio is mostly seen in the Southeast part of the world. Scorpio very often comes up in the month of June and hits his highest point in July. When August comes Scorpio disappears.
After that Johanna read to us a Greek Myth about Scorpio and Orion. In this story Orion is a big hunter who tries to kill every animal on earth but Gaia – Mother Earth – sent Scorpio to kill Orion and then the Gods of Artemis placed Orion in the sky and then Gaia placed Scorpio in the sky also. After Johanna read to us this story some of the Companions acted it out.
After a short break we practiced our Christmas songs on our bells.
In the afternoon Felix gave us a slideshow of his trip to Germany.
On Friday afternoon everybody did singing with Ashling.
