Dennis and Natalie, two of our new coworkers, and recently married, play prince and princess in our Water of Life play for Michaelmas
This week in our first Monday morning gathering of our Fall program, we sang our Saint Michael songs and then Deepak told us what happened ‘Today in History’. He told us that in 1535,the Jacques Cartier discovered a new settlement called Montreal. In 1863, President Lincoln of the United States declared that Thanksgiving will be celebrated on the last Thursday of November. In 1902, Beatrix Potter’s tale of ‘Peter Rabbit’ was published. The comic strip Peanuts came out in 1950 and nine years later the ‘Twilight Zone’ appeared on T.V. After that everybody shared what they did on their weekend. Then John talked about the stars and Marie-Reine read to us this week’s ‘Calendar of the Soul.’
In our Thursday morning college, we sang our Saint Michael songs. After that we decided that for the next four colleges, we would take a deeper look into the Water experiments that we did during the water conference. Then we spoke about our theme for Halloween. We agreed that our theme will be ‘Mary Poppins.’ After a short break we gathered into Circle Hall and tried on our costumes for our Fairy Tale ‘Iron Hans.’
On Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, we broke into our eurythmy, painting, art studio, swimming, reading and writing groups. On Friday afternoon, the grade eight students from Waldorf came to practice their parts in the fairy tale which we will be performing on Friday, November 24th.
